Shibpur Sristi a not-for-profit organisation based in Khurut, Howrah that works for the amelioration of the impoverished in society.
Sristi has been concerned about the upliftment of the poor since its inception. It has adopted many schemes for promoting education, supplying clothes, food to address the privation present among the poor. Shikshan and Paridhan are its two widely known schemes of all. Sristi has also served fearlessly in the COVID 19 pandemic and the two consecutive cyclonic disasters in Bengal. Throughout the year Sristi arranges for numerous events, contests, cultural programmes, awareness walks etc.
We work with funds raised through a multitude of ways, crowdfunding being the chief source. We have an efficient body of teams dedicated to various aspects of operation and we always try to optimise our resources for the campaigns aimed at the afflicted. A transparent system and friendly, uncompromising work culture are the plus point of Sristi.
Sristi (সৃষ্টি) means creation, genesis. The very beginning of something. We dream of creating a society where the poor and the destitute will be able to fend for themselves and, most importantly, to sustain their very existence with dignity and be a part of the development along with others.
"Paridhan” means “Vastra” in Sanskrit which in english is “clothing”. We started distributing clothes among slum kids back in 2015. Back then we don't have any kind of brand name or proper initiative, but in 2016 we decided to make a brand out of it. Thus we started the initiative under the brand name of “Paridhan”
On the eve of World Environment Day we take initiatives to distribute saplings and biodegradable plastics to the local medicine and sweet shops and pledged them not to use the regular plastics that we generally get from these shops.
On our 6th anniversary we decided to organize a one day cultural feast "Udvaban" for our well-wishers and donors. On 8th March, 2020. We published our Digital Magazine - Udvaban
We shared our joy with poor children out there by successfully delivering dry foods.
Our basic motive is to visit rural schools on a regular basis.
We will distribute educational materials (in terms of gifts) to underprivileged students studying in primary schools and also motivate them by taking few interactive classes. The whole process will encourage them to come to school.
